You are welcomed to email me prior to becoming a client to discuss your interest in beginning coaching and we can decide together if this form of assistance would be beneficial to you. We would not be discussing the resolution of your specific issues during this period.
Becoming my client is very easy. You will need to
1. read, and agree to the Client Statement of Understanding,
2. complete the information form found on the Communication Center page
3 decide if you prefer in office, telephone, or Internet-based coaching sessions
4. decide which method of communication you prefer to use if you prefer online sessions.
My services are not anonymous. Please read the Statement of Understanding below, and view the three communication options to the right and see which works best for you.
Client Statement of Understanding
By requesting online services I agree to the following:
I understand that this online service is technical in nature and that there may be Internet connection problems. If something like this were to occur, any scheduled appointments would be re-scheduled.
I also understand that I am NOT engaging in counseling or psychotherapy, but that I am requesting these coaching services to establish and implement my life goals.
I must be at least 18 years of age to consent for services by Ed Geraty
I understand that I must be free of suicidal thoughts to access online services from Ed Geraty
For all legal and regulatory purposes, the services of Ed Geraty are provided in the State of Maryland.
I understand that Mr. Geraty is providing these services at his computer, in his location in Maryland regardless of where I may be located at any given time, and I am receiving services in Maryland.
I realize that I will be charged $20.00 per email response, $45 for a ½ hr private chat session, and $60 for a 1 hr. private chat session through either America Online, MSN, Yahoo Instant Messager, or the online secure chat room. unless otherwise stated and mutually agreed upon by Ed Geraty and myself before services are rendered. I also understand that telephone consultation sessions may be requested at the same fee.
I also understand that Mr. Geraty uses the commercial AOL, Yahoo and MSN Instant Messanger programs, that these services are secure to the extent that the individual services providers have developed their security systems, and that it is my choice to use any particular internet-mediated communication platform. I also understand that the online chat room is a secured server. I furthermore understand that Internet communications cannot be guaranteed to be absolutely secure and free of potential hackers and interceptors.
I permanently agree to release and indemnify Ed Geraty from all suits, claims, and other actions originating from online coaching services provided by Ed Geraty.
| Online sessions
Method 1 We can schedule sessions using my private and secure chat room. If you use this option, please read the privacy policy link located on the bottom left of the chat room site. Using this chat room means that you have read, and agree to this policy.
Method 2 If you prefer, we can conduct our online sessions using a free Instant Messager service that you can download regardless of what Internet Service Provider you are using.
Your options are America Online (AIM) Instant Messager, Microsoft Network (MSN) Instant Messager, or Yahoo Instant Messager.
IMPORTANT NOTE ABOUT ENCRYPTION PROGRAMS: My preference for you would be AOl Instant Messager because I have added encryption technology to my AOl Instant Messager therefore your communications with me using this messager are more secure.
If you use an Instant Messager program you will need to let me know your screen name. My screen name for all of the Instant Messagers is EGeratyLSW. If you already have one of the Instant Messagers on your system you are ready to go.

Method 3 E-mail. You can e-mail me to discuss your life goals. If you choose e-mail communication you will need to 1) go to the payment page and click the PayPal button for e-mail for that service and complete the transaction, and then 2) compose your e-mail and send to egeratylsw@aol.com
After i receive notification of your payment I will respond to your email with a well thought out response within 48 hours, unless extenuating circumstances prevent me from doing this. In that rare case, i will e-mail you and let you know. This process will need to be completed for each email you send.
As mentioned in the Client Statement to the left, Internet coaching is not for everyone. Neither is it an emergency response system. If you are experiencing an emergency or feel suicidal call 911 and/or contact your nearest hospital or mental health treatment facility. If you are seeking psychotherapy please locate a psychotherapist in your area.
I am available for online sessions at various times during the week evenings and weekends. Please email me to set up your session time. Remember when scheduling your sessions that all sessions are scheduled in the Eastern Standard Time Zone (EST) of the Unitd States.
